Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization for women in management and professions, working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women.

We currently have over 90,000 members in more than 3,000 clubs in 126 countries and territories.

Soroptimists are women who use the special expertise and management skills developed in their working life to advance the status of women and make the world a better place. Soroptimists Across the World

SI-Wiesbaden, Germany

In May 2008, SIWDC partnered with SI-Wiesbaden, Germany to help support their "Berlin Airlift Project". An exhibition is being planned about the "Luftbrucke", the plane that the American Airforce used to arrange the delivery of food and supplies from Wiesbaden to Berlin during the Soviet Blockade in 1948.

Corinna Heumann spearheaded an effort to help provide SI-Wiesbade, Germany with docmented information that is housed in the National Archives. A celebration will be held on June 28 in Wiesbaden to commemorate the event.

All are invited. In exchange for the assistance of SIWDC, the Wiesbaden club will donate to "rebuilding Together of Washington DC", a project that is very important to SIWDC. Please see their website for additional details: soroptimistwiesbaden.de

SI-VICENZA, Italy

SIWDC established a friendship link with the VICENZA, Italy Club,on June 2nd 2008. In April 2008, the VICENZA, Italy club came to visit Washington DC. The visit was featured in their local newspaper.

SI-Apapa, Nigeria

SIWDC established a friendship link with SI-Apapa on December 28th 2009. In 2009, President Esther Ewko visited Washington, DC.
